There should be an option to either connect the pins directly to the breadboard (like it is now, but which breadboard is selectable) and one that connects the pins to a movable rail that will keep track of where the wires are connected.

We’re planning to improve the Arduino connection behavior in one of the upcoming updates. We’ll absolutely consider both options you mentioned, selecting which breadboard to connect to, and also the idea of a movable rail (this is a great idea by the way!). We’ll likely also expand our support to some more microcontrollers.
I would love to see support for more microcontrollers! It would be useful for comparing which board would be optimal for certain scenarios or projects.
